Portland Container is a Family Owned company and has been serving the PNW for more than more than 30 years. As a drayage service provider, on a typical day we dispatch more than 130 trucks, in three western states. We work with hundreds of customers via email and phone, and review dozens of documents daily. As a Company, we are customer centric and customer focused. We are service driven, and strive to provide the best client experience possible, and continuously looking to improve. Job Summary

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and demands
• Ability to follow instructions and work with minimum supervision in a dynamic team atmosphere
• Assist in scheduling drivers, and organizing the daily dispatch 
• Work cooperatively with customer service/sales to provide solutions for clients' needs and resolve issues
• Manage customer and driver expectations to align with operational capabilities
• Respond to customers efficiently, thoroughly, and professionally in both verbal and written form
• Develop a strong relationship with Independent Contractors and Company drivers
• Enter data into various systems accurately and efficiently
• Others duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications

• Transportation/Trucking industry experience preferred
• Ideal candidate will possess a "can-do" attitude with a "will do" work ethic
• 2-3 years related experience
• Knowledge of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office Suites
• Excellent organizational skills; both mental and the physical movement of people and equipment 
• Flexibility in learning new processes and ability to refine your knowledge, to our process
• Knowledge of Oregon and Washington area geography preferred
• Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette capabilities
• Innovative thinker and fast learner
